The aftermath of HURRICANE HARVEY: home heating oil and gas prices have risen as a result of the severity of this storm and its impact on refineries in Texas. Please contact your dealer if you have any questions concerning price increases.
“US crude jumps 2.9% to three-week closing high of $48.66 as refineries restart after Harvey”
U.S. crude prices rose more than 2 percent on Tuesday as more U.S. refineries and pipelines started moving oil and fuel.
Hurricane Harvey disrupted about 20 to 25 percent of U.S. refining capacity.
Houston and the Port Arthur-Beaumont, Texas, area were still recovering on Tuesday.
Hurricane Irma threatens to slash demand for gasoline and other fuel as it heads towards Florida.
MAKING DONATIONS: recovery efforts, rescue efforts for people and animals, including foodbanks, medical and temporary housing assistance:
NY State has posted its new website. Find information on the HEAP program (Home Energy Assistance Program) and find out if you are eligible to apply for assistance this coming November, as well as where to apply by county. Also provides Emergency Information: http://otda.ny.gov/programs/heap/HEAP-contacts.pdf
Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Commissioner Kristin M. Proud said, “Though the economic recovery continues, we know many households are struggling financially. I encourage anyone planning to seek assistance through the Home Energy Assistance Program to do so as soon as possible. The easiest way to do so, for households outside of New York City, is to visit myBenefits.ny.gov.”

CURRENT PRICE PROJECTIONS:
To be updated soon
This Week in Petroleum Release date: February 2, 2017 U.S. heating oil and propane prices higher than same time last year
Despite most of the country experiencing, on average, a relatively warm winter so far, higher crude oil prices have contributed to higher heating oil prices and strong export demand for propane has resulted in higher prices for that fuel as well. Last winter, unseasonably warm temperatures and falling crude oil prices combined to keep expenditures for winter heating fuels lower than historical averages. The latest EIA Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) projects U.S. average heating oil and propane expenditures to increase 36% and 23%, respectively, compared with last winter, but both are still projected to be lower than average expenditures over the past 10 winters
You may be eligible for a reduced rate membership!
HEAP/Disability/Active Military Personnel are eligible for $5 one time membership.
Members of these participating unions pay a one-time $5 membership rate (proof is required):
